"Kind and Compassionate"
Phil Wazny, NMD |

|
Dr. Wazny is a trained practitioner of natural medicine and also possesses years of practice in the field of traditional medicine, a combination that provides patients a multitude of rich and diverse experiences.
A native of Colorado, Dr. Wazny graduated magna cum laude in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from the University of Colorado. While in Colorado, he worked as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and served as president of the university's premedical honor society, Alpha Epsilon Delta.
Searching for adventure and new experiences in health care upon graduation, Dr. Wazny spent two years with the United States Peace Corps in Honduras where he worked with midwives, physicians and nurses at the local health center. It was here that he first witnessed the power of botanical medicine. Working with patients at the health center, traditional medicines were often in short supply. As a result, Wazny walked with patients and handpicked dozens of local rainforest's botanicals to treat their ailments.
These experiences prompted Dr. Wazny to pursue a career in Naturopathy, the field of medicine that respects the healing power of nature and places emphasis on prevention of disease and optimizing lifestyle to maintain wellness. Dr. Wazny graduated from the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences, in Tempe, Arizona, a leading institution in the field.
As a Naturopathic Medical Doctor (NMD), Dr. Wazny is trained in the various disciplines of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM): acupuncture, homeopathy, botanical medicine, nutrition, environmental medicine, detoxification, and mind-body medicine. He is also trained in more traditional subjects such as pharmacology and minor surgery.
In his free time, Dr. Wazny enjoys hiking, cycling and hockey. He and his wife Jane reside in Scottsdale, Arizona. Dr. Wazny looks forward to helping his patients on their 'Natural Path' toward wellness.
Testimonials
After suffering from fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue for several years, I was very frustrated. I could no longer work due to the debilitating symptoms. Western medicine practitioners told me there was nothing that could be done. Then I met Dr. Phil Wazny. Within two months of beginning treatment I was able to return to work part-time. The pain and fatigue were gone. I was able to do things I hadn't done in years. Dr. Phil gave me my life back!
Dr. Phil is the kindest, most compassionate health care practitioner I have ever met. During appointments, he is 100% attentive to me. He speaks to me, not at me. If there's something he doesn't know, he will research it until he finds the answer. Dr. Phil is the best thing that ever happened to health care!

Having recently endured a most traumatic medical experience with a conventional doctor, I was hoping to find a local physician who might have an alternative approach to a serious internal problem.
When I first phoned the office, Dr. Wazny came on the line and took my call. About an hour later I was in his office--in considerable discomfort, fearful and extremely depressed. This kind, thoughtful, compassionate doctor listened carefully as I described the problem and the circumstances. During his painless examination, he began to uplift my spirits with good humor and meaningful words of encouragement.
On leaving his office that day, I was a renewed person. Subsequent treatment has placed me well on the road to recovery. His phone calls and vital concern for my well-being continue to inspire my faith and gratitude that we have such a man to call upon for care and genuine professional help in our community.
