Hormone replacement therapy

"Results Based Medicine"

Hormonal changes affect both men and women. Unbalanced amounts can result in fatigue, weight gain or an inability to lose weight, lack of libido, and can even affect the quality of your sleep. When hormones are balanced, patients experience increased energy and stamina.

Some of the symptoms we blame on aging are actually caused by a decline in sex hormones. Sex hormones include testosterone, estrogen, and progesterone. Symptoms of declining hormones are:

  Weight gain/inability to lose weight
Loss of strength
  Poor quality sleep
  Fatigue
  Thinning skin
  Memory loss.inability to focus
  Decreased sexual function
  Lowered energy levels
  Erratic emotions
(anxiety and depression)

These symptoms typically worsen around the menopausal years for women. Men also experience a similar sudden decline in hormones called andropause.

To restore optimal health, the doctors focus on restoring hormones to the normal levels found of those in their mid 30's.

Thyroid hormone
Thyroid disease is a commonly undiagnosed cause of depression, fatigue, constipation, hair loss and chronic pain. Our doctors are able to detect this disease and treat it with natural forms of thyroid.

Testosterone
For both men and women, healthy levels of testosterone maintain peak sexual function, good energy levels and high exercise capacity. Testosterone can be restored by injections, topical creams, subdermal (under the skin) pellets, and sublingual (under the tongue) tablets.

Estrogen
Given only to women, estrogen stops hot flashes, vaginal dryness, and can reverse memory losses. It can also improve some headaches, sleep disturbances, and memory losses. We give this by subdermal pellets, topical creams, and sublingual tablets.

DHEA
When this declines for men or women, the immune system becomes weaker and blood sugar becomes less stable. We give this by pill or topical cream.

Progesterone:
PMS, irregular periods, and painful menses are effectively treated by this hormone that is administered either by a topical cream or pill.
