Nutrients for Thyroid & Adrenal Health

What nutrients and herbs are best for thyroid health?

Nutritional deficiencies play a significant role in thyroid dysfunction. Selenium, vitamin D, vitamin A, iron, zinc, copper and vitamin C are all important for thyroid health. Adequate iodine is especially important, but it is essential not to take too much. Iodine is one of the nutrients you can get too little or too much of, both impacting proper thyroid function. Most iodine supplements have too high of a dosage and can throw off thyroid balance. Patients who are on thyroid replacement have no need for iodine in excess of what is naturally occurring in their thyroid medication. Because many of our patients have thyroid disease, most of our supplements do not contain added iodine.

With autoimmune thyroid disease, it is important to lower inflammation and avoid anything that could be triggering the immune system. This is why quality ingredients are essential. Specific nutrients to lower inflammation and autoimmunity include fish oil, turmeric, Andrographis paniculata and plant sterols.

We have formulated our Daily Reset Packs as a great option for our patients with thyroid disease. The Daily Reset Packs contain multiple vitamin-minerals, vitamin D, calcium-magnesium and omega fish oil. One convenience of the packets is you don’t have to sort through or carry four bottles and can easily carry a small packet when you’re on the go. We suggest taking one packet twice daily with food. Each pack contains 60 packets, which will last for one month.

What nutrients and herbs are best for adrenal health?

With the demands requested by our patients and readers of Dr. Christianson’s New York Times bestseller, The Adrenal Reset Diet, we have formulated packs specifically to support adrenal health.

Depending on your individual cortisol rhythm and adrenal needs, there are four adrenal formulations: Stressed, Wired & Tired, Crashed and Thriving. The Stressed packs help lower cortisol and contain ingredients such as celery seed extract, magnesium threonate, inositol, pantothenic acid, and 5-HTP. Wired and Tired packs help normalize the cortisol slope with ingredients such as Ashwagandha, glycine, Passiflora, Melissa, and phosphatidylserine. Crashed packs help boost cortisol with ingredients including ribose, malic acid, succinic acid, Vitamin B-12 and taurine. Thriving packs help maintain adrenal resiliency with nutrients specifically for the adrenals while supporting the liver.

The adrenal packs can be taken in addition to the Daily Reset Packs for targeted adrenal support while covering your basic and essential nutrients needs.
