TIP From Dr.B – Turmeric Citrus Cooler

On the weekends, I find myself asking “What do we do with ourselves in this Arizona heat”, especially with my 10-month-old daughter Leyla and Labrador Logan. The option to stay indoors all hours of the day just does not work. This past weekend we choose to enjoy an early picnic at the park and bring some goodies along. Because it was already heating up, I decided to make a fun refreshing and healthy hydrating drink to bring along- my Turmeric Citrus cooler. It was a great way to stay hydrated while enjoying some outdoor fun. I encourage you to find innovative ways to incorporate hydration into your routine and firsthand observe how this often neglected tool can transform your energy, mood, brain function for the better. Cheers!

Ingredients for my Turmeric Citrus Cooler:

  • 4 – 5 slices of fresh turmeric root (I also added some turmeric powder with piperine that I had in the pantry – but this is not needed)
  • 1 large lime juiced
  • 2 tbsp. raw honey
  • 1/4 tsp. sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 3 cups of water
